As a high school football player I made every honors team you can make in high school from Parade All American to getting my jersey retired. I went on to play college football at the University of Arizona and was their starting running back for four years. In college is where I figured I would follow in my dad’s footsteps and get into the education field so I majored in Exercise Sports Science since I loved P.E. and coaching others. After four years of college I spent 3 years trying to find a home in the NFL but never landing on a team full time. I realized that I must plan for my next move so I became a certified high school P.E. teacher. While teaching I went to college and received my master’s degree in Secondary Education and started a company called Extreme Speed in 1997. My goal in starting Extreme Speed was to help make young athletes successful in their sport of choice through training. Training young athletes has become a passion of mine and over the past 15 years I have trained well over 80 athletes girls and boys who have earned athletic scholarships and went on to play college sports. I realized the gift of giving back to young student athletes, all the great tools and fundamentals I have learned in training, life, education and sports are best shared with kids who are looking to achieve similar successes.
Michael Richmond attended St Mary's high school, where he was part of consecutive Arizona State High School football championships in 84 and 85. Michael was awarded a full football scholarship to New Mexico State University where he played wide receiver and ran track. Upon completion of a BS in Justice Studies, he went on to play 3 seasons with the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena football League. In 2010 Michael began his coaching career with his old alma-mater, St Mary's high school, as a receivers coach. In 2011, he coached the track team (sprinters) at Chaparral high school and in 2014 Michael became Head Coach for Sal Pointe Charter high school where they went undefeated and were crowned State Champs in 2014. Michael has coached and trained athletes privately for over 15 years and is now a part of Extreme Speed athletic performance training.
RJ McGill 4 Year starter and full ride scholarship and scholar-athlete at Division 1 College of University of North Dakota where I specialized as a slot receiver and an on-field student coach to other players. I graduated with above 3.0 GPA from UND with my degree in communications in 4.5 years. Before that, I was honored with 1st Team All-State Running Back in addition to Best 2-way Play of the Year award from Arizona while graduating from St. Mary’s High School. I have played many team sports growing up since age 4, and was blessed to be trained by some of the best coaches and pro-athletes in: football, basketball and baseball throughout my childhood. I learned at a young age how to be a leader and valuable part of a ‘winning’ team, both on the field and off. I have learned and shared with others the mindset, work ethic and training that is needed for all the student athletes to be successful both academically and athletically and to be a valuable part of a winning team. I have been training other young athletes for over 8 years during my high school and college career from ages 5 to 25. It’s not just sports that they will improve in with me, but all other aspects of their life.
